THE BODY of have-a-go hero Sukhwinder Singh has been flown back to his native India.
Mr Singh, 31, was stabbed to death in Uphall Road, Barking on January 8, after chasing two muggers who stole a young woman's handbag.
His body was flown to the Punjab region of India yesterday (Tuesday), where his wife and 10-year-old son live.
The committed Sikh, who moved to the UK 10 years ago to earn money for the family, had never met his son and was due to make a surprise visit to the boy last week.
Tributes have poured in for Mr Singh since his death. A Facebook group set up in his memory has almost 24,000 members.
