Bollywood comes to Barking next week, courtesy of dance group Community Concord.

The group will host two free dance workshops at the Broadway on Tuesday, August 15.

Timed to coincide with the 70th anniversary of India’s independence, the taster sessions are open to adults and children over eight years old.

Budding dancers will take part in a Bollywood flash mob at the second annual THAMESFEST family festival.

Participation lead Sharlene Carter called it “an amazing opportunity” for dancers of all abilities.

Community Concord was formed five years ago to keep Barking and Dagenham residents active and connected.

The group has worked with more than 60 events and 40 workshops involving more than 200 families.

They recently performed at DAGFEST, Dagenham’s outdoor festival of dance, music and street theatre from all over the globe.

Workshops run from 6pm until 6.45pm and 7pm until 7.45pm. For more information, visit
