WORLD BOOK Day swept through the borough with an array of events bringing fun and inspiration to youngsters and grown ups alike.

Schools joined into the worldwide celebration of books by having staff and children dress up as their favourite book character, while book launches and signings including that of renowned author Gilda O'Neill, who wrote My East End and Our Streets, kept book lovers on their toes last Thursday, March 6.
