A TEN-YEAR-old boy was taken to hospital after a collision with a police car on an emergency call.

The youngster received minor injuries in the accident which happened in Wood Lane, Dagenham.

Police and paramedics were called to the incident near Five Elms at around 9am on Thursday, and officers closed off the road diverting traffic in both directions.

The boy, who was left bruised by the crash, was discharged from Queen's Hospital later that day.

The accident involved a squad car which had its blue lights and siren on at the time.

Police are investigating the incident.
