A TEENAGER from Dagenham has been charged with GBH and wounding with intent after a 14-year-old was stabbed in the chest outside Redbridge College.

The youth, aged 16, cannot be named and has been remanded in custody after an attack took place on the college green in Little Heath, Chadwell Heath, just after 9.15am on Friday, March 28.

The victim is understood to be a pupil at the Constance Bridgeman Centre referral unit, a unit for children with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties that is based at the college.

Shocked students arrived for their lessons only to find that the college had been sealed off in police tape.

One student, who didn't want to give her name, said: "We were just making our way to the college as usual but when we got there it was obvious something was wrong. The police were everywhere and there was also a couple of ambulances."
