Daggers take a 1-0 victory over Burton thanks to Paul Bensons early goal

FULL TIME: And there goes the final whistle as Daggers take the points, more to come in a minute.

Griffiths almost puts the result beyond doubt, but his low effort went wide, then Benson beat keeper, but tried to take it round Austin and he was tackled.

Four added minutes here.

Clock running down here, Daggers have the measure of their opponents for the moment.

85MINS: Its all working up for a stellar last few minutes here, you get the feeling Burton are going to get one last chance!

Amidst all that, Spiller has come on for Nurse.

Amazing scenes here now!

Pearson was put through, the linesman kept his flag down, waited for the striker to expertly beat Roberts, the crowd erupted, music played, and then the lineo put his flag up!

After siding against the home fans a moment ago, must admit I now have a degree of sympathy with them.

Pesc and his assistant have clearly lost it on the bench now.

Wesley Thomas has now joined the fray, replacing Josh Scott.

Its starting to boil over here now with Burtons players and management feeling they are on the end of a number of poor decisions.

Must admit, from my viewpoint, there seems very little wrong with anything that has gone on so far.

Thurgood goes into the book after a high challenge on Simpson, while the impressive Stroot is now off for Greg Pearson.

70MINS: Burton are playing a dangerous game with their backpasses at times, but Benson cant quite take advantage of another one.

The hosts are showing plenty of endeavour, but as has been the case all afternoon, they lack the quality to make anything of it so far.

Another sub here as Corbett is replaced by Maghoma, onloan from Spurs.

Guy Branston has been sent off here for the hosts.

A poor backpass sold the skipper short and he clipped Benson as the striker nipped in ahead of him - he was last man, but Benson was quite a way from goal, it didnt make a difference though as the red card was shown.

To the letter of the law, I guess thats the correct decision, and Harrad has come off to be replaced by Darren Stride as Burton need to rearrange their defence.

58MINS: Burton getting close here as the tackles start to fly in from both sides.

Harrad has put a header well wide after a fine cross by Boertien, and that might well be his last action as Peschisolido immediately signalled to his subs bench.

50MINS: Daggers answer back well here, as Scott wins a corner after a lovely piece of skill by Green, while Antwi sends a header wide.

The centre half then made a stunning challenge on Walker as the striker beat the offside trap, had he mistimed that it would have been pen number two!

The Brewers danger man is definitely Robin Shroot as the on-loan Birmingham man has just curled inches over after a lovely move with McGrath.

Hosts already out for the second half then, and here come the Daggers.

HALF TIME: Well, well, well!

What an end to the half there - Harrad hit his kick firmly down the middle, but the trailing legs of Roberts blocked the shot and Daggers keep the lead!

Harrad to step up - and its saved!

Penalty to Burton here.

Foul by Antwi on Harrad and despite the protests, the pen has been given.

Three minutes of added time here, as Benson has a header deflected just over the bar, while Antwi then hooks a volley out of the ground.

Oooh, Daggers close to a second there, as the keeper dropped Green's high cross, but picked the loose ball off the toes of Antwi.

40MINS: Scott has just sent in a lovely shot that was well claimed by the keeper, but Burton are getting the ball in dangerous areas too, just running out of ideas when they do so.

33MINS: Nurse sends over a cross that Branston clears over his own bar, while Antwi sends over a volley that appears to hit a defenders arm, but only another corner is given.

Both Thurgood and Doe then let rip from outside the box, but theres no way through.

This is turning into a very watchable game, as Burton arent shy about coming forward either, but they lack Daggers cutting edge.

26MINS: Another let off for the visitors there as Roberts was harshly penalised for picking up the ball a matter of yards from his goalline, after Doe had blocked the shot.

It was given as a backpass, a harsh call to say the least, but Austin's shot was blocked by a posse of defenders.

Thankfully, hes alright though, as Daggers can do without an injury for Benson to contend with.

Daggers leading scorer has now hit the dirt after landing awkwardly from a high ball, slight worry here for the visitors.

Benson just showed why he is so coveted there, taking a ball first time, cutting back onto his right foot and then curling the ball just over the bar.

20MINS: Somehow its not 1-1 here as Corbett has missed from literally the goal-line!

Shroot beat his man in the area and crossed underneath Roberts, but sliding in at the far post, Corbett sent the ball back where it came, an extraordinay miss from the Burton man!

Thurgood is already having a fine game for the visitors and a sweeping ball to the right sees Benson win another corner.

12MINS Corner for Daggers here after a good Green run.

The visitors have had to be on their mettle at the back recently though, with Antwi and Doe making fine interventions.

Harrad looks dangerous upfront for Burton, but apart from that, they are a solid more than a spectacular side to watch.

Kingswilson has been in touch on the emails, always good to hear: What a fantastic start. Benson is on fire at the moment. If he can stay fit, I wouldn't bet against him getting 30 goals this season with the manner in which we play in.

Hopefully we can hold the lead as I fancy us to pick them off on the counter attack. Can't imagine Guy Branston is looking forward to Scott and Benno running at him!

The two forwards are having a good game so far, and when the ball is on the floor, the Burton defence wont like coming up against their pace and movement it must be said.

With five minutes on the clock now, then the atmosphere has rather been sucked out of the home crowd with that goal, as its all gone rather quiet here.

Apart from Bensons strike, there has been absolutely nothing else to talk of.

GOALFLASH - Burton 0 Daggers 1 - Paul Benson

Well, that all came rather out of nothing - as Griffiths put over a cross with his unfavoured right foot, it skimmed off the head of Nurse, and Benson stole in to toepoke over the line.

What a start!

Dont know about anyone else, but the actual ball looks to be slightly underpumped, its not quite coming off the foot right at the moment!

Right, here we go then, huddles over, and kick-off is now upon us!

Nice touch by the hosts just then, with a presentation for Daggers 100th match as a Football League club, which obviously takes place today.

Will they be celebrating another three points come 4.45pm today though?

You couldnt get two more different managers out here today, with Peschisolido and Still - one vastly experienced and the other learning his trade in the game.

Final warm ups are undertaken now, and it must be said, its a great view from the press box here, so looking forward to a good game between these two side.
