An entrepreneur is set to use her childhood experiences of growing up in care to help others in similar situations, after winning £4,000 to launch her business.
Judith Denton, 43, from Barking, has been selected to join the next cohort of the Lloyds Bank Social Entrepreneurs Programme and will also receive a business mentor.
The former mortgage advisor will soon be offering consultancy services for local authorities and businesses through her community interest company (CIC) The Transformed You, while offering employment and apprenticeship opportunities for children in care.
“I want to make a difference in Barking and Dagenham,” she said.
“If I had these services when I was young I know for a fact that a lot of the issues I went through in later life would already have been addressed.”
