Barking and Dagenham high-street upgrades

Town centre bosses are to revamp shopping parades with new pavements, trees and shutters.

Whalebone Lane South in Dagenham and the Eastbury parade in Barking will be spruced up with new street furniture, trees and better pavements from next week.

Meanwhile, commissioned artists will improve Barking Town Centre with nicer shop fronts and security shutters in a bid to slash crime and anti-social behaviour.
