A beauty expert is hoping to prove new mums can be successful in business by launching her own spa.
Mey Qureshi, 21, of Forest Gate, gave birth to Iman two months ago and returned to work three weeks ago. She grew up with eight brothers and turned to being a beautician, fashion and hairdressing in order to maintain a strong female presence in her home.
Working part-time at Newham College in the sales and marketing team, after completing her hairdressing training in 2012, she said: “In five year’s time I’d love to be managing my own beauty spa in the centre of London.
“I don’t buy the argument that you can’t work while being a new mother. I’d love to show other mums you can be a success in business.”
