SHOPPING centre bosses have launched a "zero tolerance" clampdown on rogue drivers hijacking disabled parking bays.
The award-winning security team at the 55-store Vicarage Field precinct, Ripple Road, Barking, has been instructed to hand out fines following complaints from disabled shoppers.
The team, which received a secured car park award, has pledged to tackle the "parking bay abuse" of motorists using restricted spaces without blue badges.
Shopping centre assistant manager Andr Philipsen said: "It is something which has been in place for some time but we are now cracking down as it is causing problems for the legitimate users.
