Cricket, athletics and street dance were just some of the activities that youngsters enjoyed at Dagenham and Redbridge Football Club this week as part of a half term initiative.

The Dagenham based club has been working in partnership with London and Quadrant Housing to offer free activities to help support children and young people to become positive, active citizens in their community.

The activities, which were available for eight to 16-year-olds, were held on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and around 20 youngsters attended each day.

“We’ve been running the multi sport activities to give children something to do and keep them off the streets this half term,” said Jodie Crane, communications manager for Dagenham and Redbridge Football Club.

“As well as running a range of sport sessions, kids have also enjoyed a DJ workshop and a visit form a petting zoo. It was really exciting for them to get to touch snakes and meercats.”
