THIS Sunday, thousands of people will be taking on the gruelling 26 miles of the London Marathon.

But the children of one Dagenham School have planned out their own fundraiser.

Students at William Bellamy Infant School, in Frizlands Lane, are planning to tackle 26 laps of their playground, as well as taking on several other sporting challenges, at an event on May 1.

The sports event, which has seen 170,000 children taking part nationwide during the last year, is aimed at raising money for the UK charity Children with Leukaemia.
