China freight train arrives in Barking after 7,500 mile journey

China’s first freight train to the UK is due to arrive in Barking today after an 18-day journey.

Containers full of clothing and consumer goods will be unloaded at DB Cargo’s London Eurohub in Ripple Road as crowds gather for the arrival at 1pm.

The 7,500 mile route went through seven countries after the train set off from the eastern province of Yiwu.
