CLAPTON were on the wrong end of an eight-goal thriller at Witham Town last Saturday in an Essex Senior League clash.
The Newham club showed how good they can be going forward and took the lead after 14 minutes through hot-shot Troy Hewitt, only for David Hawes to bring the Essex side back on level terms.
A strike from Tommy Robinson gave the home side the lead heading into halftime.
Daniel Lopez struck back for Clapton, but Steve Joyce replied instantly for Witham.
The Tons showed their fighting spirit as Alex Reid found the net for the visitors, but strikes from Kevin Hawes and Niki Love sealed the win for Witham.
* MEANWHILE, London APSA went down 2-0 at Burnham Ramblers in the Essex Senior League.
John Bradley gave the hosts the lead after 15 minutes and the win was sealed with a 90th minute Lewis Wilkin goal.
