DAGENHAM & REDBRIDGE failed to make the Essex Senior Cup Final for the first time in eight years after a last-gasp 1-0 defeat against Colchester United on Tuesday night.
The Daggers, who included the likes of Darren Currie, Danny Spiller and Romain Vincelot in their side, had the better of the first half, but were unable to find a way past Mark Cousins in the visitor's goal.
It was United who picked up the pace after the break though, as home keeper Chris Lewington kept his side in the contest with a number of excellent stops.
However, he was finally beaten in the last minutes of added on time, when substitute Craig Arnott got between Lewington and Tommy Tejan-Sie to grab the winner.
Colchester will now play Hornchurch in the final after they pulled off a surprise 4-3 win over Conference South side Chelmsford City.
Daggers: Lewington, Spiller, Wren (Pooley 85), Vincelot, Brien, Tejan-Sie, Currie, Bingham, Walsh, Thomas, Montgomery.
Subs not used: Green, Euel, Wooton, Walters.
Attendance: 325.
