THE award-winning musical Gypsy, based on the memoirs of Gypsy Rose Lee - a famous burlesque stripper - is brought to the Kenneth More Theatre this week by Thistles Musical Theatre Company.
With lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and music by Jule Styne, the show follows the dreams of her mother, Rose, to raise two daughters to perform on the stage.
It casts an affectionate eye on the hardships of show business life and includes many songs that became popular standards, including Small World, Everything's Coming Up Roses and You'll Never Get Away from Me.
It runs from today (Thurs) until Saturday.
