AN EXPLOSIVE night of soul music is promised when The Conmitments play Queen's Theatre, Hornchurch, on Friday.

This nine-piece pay tribute to the 1991 film The Commitments about a Dublin soul band.

Expect Mustang Sally, Nowhere to Run, Respect, Dancing in the Street, Try a Little Tenderness and Midnight Hour among many others.

Powerful female vocal harmonies, guitar, keyboards, drums, sax and trumpet combine for an electrifying concert.

The show starts at 7.30pm at the theatre in Billet Lane. Tickets �18.50.
