ON A recent return to Barking and Beacontree after moving to Norfolk 15 years ago, I feel saddened by the shabbiness and how rundown the whole area is nowadays.
Goresbrook Road, where I grew up in the 60s and have many happy memories of, was once a smart and respectful road.
Barking and Dagenham Council should hang their heads in shame for allowing such a rapid decline in such a short space of time.
