AFTER reading the POST 'Letters Page', on the de-selection of councillors, I would like to totally refute the claims of one correspondent regarding my own selection.
Though not named, I am the Chair of Barking Labour group and I can assure you that even after 39 years a councillor, I was most definitely not shown any preferential treatment as the writer claimed.
Like everyone else, I was interviewed by a panel of five people from the regional office of the party and was delighted to receive confirmation that I will be once again be offering myself for election in my ward at the next municipal elections.
Cllr John Davis - Alibon Ward
