Daggers pick up their first victory of the season with a fine win at Gresty Road!

FULL TIME What a great result that is for Daggers then.

An excellent 2-1 win here at Gresty Road, more reaction to come in a few minutes.

Phew - Grant has just fired a volley over when left completely unmarked as Daggers couldnt clear - could that be the chance?!

JB: If Daggers win this, I promise to leave off Benno for at least the first half of the Cardiff game.... Come on Daggers!!!

He has been fairly quiet at times, but as all top strikers do, he scored the first real chance he had.

Daggers playing some nice keepball here at times, and winning plenty of throws, only a matter of minutes to go!

Some tactical advice from Chelmsford James - Come on Stilly put lets have a 8-1-1 formation and guarantee the 3 points!

Its still a 4-4-2 at the minute, Thomas upfront with Ogogo right wing.

Nurse has now limped off for Daggers - with Ogogo coming on, while Miller has replaced Ada for the hosts.

A more than happy JB says: I wonder if he can hear me at times.....? Get in Benno!!

80: Well, well, well

Its been hectic here the last few minutes and there could have been more goals.

Benson saw a snapshot excellently turned away by Button, while there were massive shouts for a pen then as Antwi challenged Moore. From here, it looks like the visitors definitely got away with that!

10 minutes to go now, dont go anywhere!

Also - Daggers Sid appreciated an earlier classic.

Amazing pits joke - i've missed you!

and JB adds

Saunders - scores on his League debut for Brentford. Carlisle 1-3 Brentford. Seemingly a good day for ex-Daggers! Let's hope the current ones have a better day still!

Thomas has replaced Green for Daggers

GOALFLASH Its raining goals here as Benson has just made it 2-1 by beating a challenge, then the keeper, before slotting into the empty net. Great comeback from Daggers.

GOALFLASH Sub Byron Moore makes it 1-1 with a cracker of his own - firing past Tony Roberts into the top corner.

A new participant has been in touch - James from Chelmsford- always good to welcome

Not so cocky now are they? Great that Stilly agreed with Benno and decided to play Nurse as hi strike partner! Lets get the killer goal now.

JB has also got a few words

Me, discontented with Benson...? Whatever gave you that impression....?

Seen as you brought it up, he's going to have the most important season for us - now we have no Strevs, Saunders and Ritchie cracking goals in, Benson can't afford to be his wasteful self.

Come on Benno, prove me wrong this season and hit a modest 30 goals!! Even Nursey has more than you this season!!!

Another change for Crewe - Moore on for Donaldson, Still is keeping his powder dry yet, even though he has 6 to choose from!

Now Daggers Sid has been in touch - Perhaps Nursey should be the main striker

He is certainly pressing his claim today!

70: Still Daggers absorbing all this pressure, and its starting to get on the nerves of the home supporters.

They are having more of the ball, but as yet, cant test Roberts, and have started shooting from distance, something the Welshman will be more than happy with.

Crewe make a change here, with Baily coming on for Schumacher - some could say hes back in the pits now...

60: Let off for the Daggers there as Crewe had the ball in the net through Grant, but Elding was caught offside in the buildup, tho the majority of home fans didnt see that, and had their celebrations cut shot.

Benson then tested Button, but it was a routine save from the Spurs loanee, a rare foray forward so far.

Roberts doing through his party pieces with the home fans here after a stoppage in play!

Good to hear from Kingwilson - who has this to say

The new season is here. Another season of hope, expectation and of Jamey Barron seemingly discontented with Paul Benson!

Sounded like a cracking goal. Great for Nursery to get on the scoresheet so early. Might give him some confidence for the rest of the season. How are the new boys looking?

All the new boys are holding their own at the moment. Doe is solid at the back, Thurgood has put in a tigerish display, while Green is causing danger on the wing.

Add to that a solid Will Antwi, and there can be no complaints so far!

50: Fairly quiet start here after the break - Doe had to be alert to clear the danger, while Green asked for penalty when he was felled in the box, but he would have been fortunate to get that.

Benson was caught offside when pushing forward, and Brayford put a drive wide from distance, but this half hasnt caught alight yet.

Teams are out for 2nd half - can Daggers preserve the lead?

And then after Nursey scored that cracker

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! I love it when Daggers pay attention!!

A few words from Jamey Barron on the email - this one from before the goal

So we've started well (don't wanna jinx it) - very difficult first couple of games for us, so if we get a little from them it'll put us in a good mental position for the rest of the season.

Mags is doing well at Colchester - they're 4-0 up at the moment against Norwich! Who knows, we might be swapping leagues with them next season.

An early goal would do the trick now - come on Benno, break your duck for the season!

HALF TIME - Daggers lead 1-0 here.

Just before the break, the ball broke about 25-30 yards away from the Crewe goal, and Nurse looked up, before belting the ball over Button and into the net for Daggers first goal of the new season, and what a goal it was!

That has given the Crewe players something to think about, and there were a few murmurs of discontent from the home faithful at the break too - how fickle the fans are!

35: Green is looking Daggers most likely source of a goal at the moment, as he is getting some space on the right flank and sends over one cross that is well claimed by Button, something he didnt always do at Victoria Road!

Roberts has to scrabble around at the feel of Grant, when the forward is left unmarked up front, but the Crewe man lacked the composure to put in a cross, even with the Daggers keeper on his knees!

25: Action at both ends now, as O'Donnell puts a header just over his own bar for Crewe, while Roberts has to come out and fist a long throw clear at the other end.

Daggers look neat and tidy in possession, but it has to be said that Crewe's front players appear more dangerous at this current stage.

Ps, you can get in touch on daggersmatch@live.co.uk

20: A flurry of activity just there as Taiwo sends a free kick into the side netting - the Daggers fans to the left of the goal think its in, but much to the delight of the home supporters, it isnt.

Then Crewe almost take the lead twice in a few minutes as Donaldsons header is tipped onto the bar and over by Roberts, before Elding should do much better, but his header is off target from close in.

It appears some of the earlier posts havent worked, so for those not in the know - Daggers have gone as expected with Nurse up front, Gain, Taiwo and Thurgood in the middle, while Doe is at right back.

Daggers: Roberts, Doe, Griffiths, Arber, Antwi, Green, Taiwo, Thurgood, Gain, Benson, Nurse.
