Cricket day for Dudley Moore

THE ANNUAL Dudley Moore memorial cricket match will take place at May and Baker sports ground, Dagenham Road, on Friday July 18.

As usual the teams will be Old Dagonians, a side made up of former members of Dagenham County High School, and May and Baker Cricket Club.

The game starts at 2pm and presentation of the Dudley Moore trophy will take place at around 7pm. A social evening will follow in the club.

Proceeds from the raffle will go to the British Diabetes Association through Jan Moreton, widow of May and Baker scorer Dickie Moreton.

Old Dagonians will line up as follows: Peter Ness; Roy Hooper; Roy Paul (captain); Neville Fox; Ken Boulton; Tony Brooking; Bob Miller; Mike Collins; Steve Mason; Roy Greenslade and twelfth man Richard Steele.

The fixture has been taking place ever since 1947.
