An arsonist has been banned from entering the Barking street where she committed criminal damage by starting a potentially life-threatening fire at a council-owned property.

Barking and Dagenham Council obtained an interim injunction against Charlotte Nwanse which prevents her from entering Lambourne Gardens, where the fire occured on April 19.

The injunction, which was obtained at Romford Magistrates’ Court last week, also forbids her from encouraging others to do anything which may cause harrassment, alarm or distress.

Deputy leader of the council, Cllr Saima Ashraf, said: “Behaviour of this reckless nature is not acceptable and will not be tolerated.

“The court’s judgement sends a strong message that this council is committed to addressing issues of anti-social behaviour that impacts on our community.”
