A drug dealer who hid 25 wraps of class A drugs up his bum has been jailed for five years.

Vincent Ojo, of North Street, Barking, was stopped in Southend by police officers from Operation Raptor, an Essex Police team set up to detect and deter drug dealing gangs.

The 26-year-old was suspected to be concealing drugs and was taken into custody where he was searched.

He refused an X ray and ultrasound but later admitted concealing the drugs and passed a package containting 18 wraps of heroin and seven of cocaine.

Ojo pleaded guilty on Friday last week at Basildon Crown Court to one count of possession with intent to supply cocaine and one count of possession with intent to supply heroin on March 7.

He was jailed for five years for each offence to run concurrently.

An order was also made for the drugs to be destroyed and cash relating to his drug dealing activities to be seized under the Proceeds of Crime Act.

Operation Raptor teams have been created in the North, South and West Local Policing Areas to detect and disrupt gangs who travel to Essex to deal drugs and cause violence.

Pc Ian Patterson from Operation Raptor South said: “Vincent Ojo thought he could come to Essex to deal drugs but was stopped in his tracks after officers stopped the car in which he was a passenger and suspected he may have something to hide.

“Ojo refused medical intervention but eventually admitted concealing the drugs and pleaded guilty to the offences at court.

“He will now serve a lengthy prison sentence.”
