A false threat to shoot a man sparked a police search last night.

Two men were seen fighting on the corner of Fanshawe Avenue and Tanner Street at around 11pm.

A police spokesman explained that officers received a call after a passer-by overheard one of them say “I’m going to get a gun”.

Following a search of the area, however, no weapon was found and nobody was arrested.
