Fourth arrest made in connection with killing of Hasan Ozcan in Barking

A fourth arrest has been made in connection with the fatal stabbing of 19-year-old Hasan Ozcan in Barking.
This morning a 20-year-old man in Hackney has been arrested on suspicion of murder and taken to an east London police station, where he remains in custody.
Yesterday evening an 18-year-old was arrested and bailed in Barking in connection with Mr Ozcan’s death.
On Friday, February 16 a 15-year-old boy and a 19-year-old man were arrested in Dagenham and Hornchurch respectively on suspicion on murder. The pair have also been bailed.
Mr Ozcan was stabbed multiple times on the evening of Saturday, February 3 in Abbey Road.
Police were called just after 10pm and less than an hour later Mr Ozcan was pronounced dead at the scene.
Enquiries continue and police and appealing for more information.
Detective Chief Inspector Larry Smith, who is leading the investigation, said: “We have now made four arrests but we are still appealing for information so we can establish the circumstances which led to a young man losing his life.
“It is vital that those out there with information who haven’t yet done so contact the police. I’d urge you contact the incident room as soon as possible. Your call will be treated in the strictest confidence.”
