A fundraising page has been set up for the funeral of a teenager stabbed to death in Chadwell Heath last week.

Lyndon Davis was found injured in Nash Road when police were called to reports of an attack at about 10.30pm on Wednesday.

Medics rushed him to an east London hospital, where he died fewer than two hours later.

Detectives believe the 18 year old, also known as Lynx, was chased down by a group before being attacked.

He is yet to be formally identified but his next of kin have been informed.

Lyndon was a “caring, loving” family man “with a bright future”, read an online tribute page.

“He battled for his life but unfortunately it became clear he was a wanted angel,” it added.

“Our prayers go out to Lyndon and his family though [through] such a tragic and heartbreaking time.”

The page, which went live two days after his death, has raised one fifth – or £1,000 – of its £5,000 target.

The Met has launched a murder probe into the attack and continues to appeal for information.

Officers arrested one man in connection with their investigation last week. He has been released on bail pending further enquiries.

A post-mortem will be held in due course.

Police and council representatives are holding a public meeting on Wednesday following public safety fears in the wake of the Lyndon’s stabbing.

Organisers say the two-hour event at Marks Gate Community Centre offers residents the chance to hear “an update on the police investigation” and “raise any concerns”.

“A senior police officer, councillors and council officers will be at the meeting to answer your questions,” according to a flyer for the event.

The meeting starts at 7pm in Rose Lane, Dagenham and is open to all.

Meanwhile, police ask witnesses or anyone with information on the attack to call 0208 721 4868 or 101 quoting CAD 9208/14March.

Alternatively, you can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
