Meeting called after man, 23, knifed to death on Barking estate

Police and Barking and Dagenham Council are holding a public meeting following a fatal stabbing on a Barking housing estate.
A senior representative from each organisation will be present to answer residents’ concerns about public safety in the wake of the atttack at the Harts Lane estate.
The meeting follows a 23-year-old knifed to death in Crows Road late on May 17.
Abdulrahman Nassor Juma, known as Mani, had been returning home from evening prayers at a nearby mosque.
He died from stab wounds to the chest, according to a post-mortem exam.
“The meeting will provide a chance for you to hear an update on the police investigation and to raise any concerns you may have,” read an announcement posted on the Met’s Barking and Dagenham Twitter page Tuesday morning.
The meeting at Abbey Community Centre in Cowbridge Lane, Barking, is open to all and runs from 7pm to 8.30pm on Thursday.
