A 37-year-old man was hit and killed by a train in Dagenham on Saturday afternoon.
Officers from the British Transport Police (BTP) and the Met were called to Dagenham Heathway Underground station at about 1.40pm, following reports a person had been struck.
Ambulance crews also arrived at the westbound District line platform, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
His family has been informed.
A BTP spokesman said: “The incident is not currently being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
