Former neighbours of Polly Chowdury and Kiki Muddar have expressed disgust at the pair’s manslaughter of Ayesha Ali.
Sandra Yeoman, 77, lives at The Coppins, where the lovers met and began a destructive relationship ending in the death of Chowdury’s daughter.
“There’s no excuse for the systematic torture of a defenceless girl,” she said. “These people are animals and they should never be let out of prison.”
Chowdury, 35, and Muddar, 43, were sentenced to prison sentences of 13 years and 18 years respectively at the Old Bailey today.
Sandra told the Post she hadn’t been friends with the couple and always felt uneasy around Kiki.
“There was something about her I just didn’t want to get involved in – something I couldn’t put my finger on,” she said.
Another woman at The Coppins, who wished to remain anonymous, added: “They should stay in prison and rot.”
After being neighbours at The Coppins, Chowdury and Muddar became lovers and moved to Bedwell Court, Broomfield Road, Chadwell Heath with Ayesha.
The eight-year-old girl was found dead there on August 29 2013 – the result of a blow to the head.
A Bedwell Court resident, who lived there at the time of death and wished to remain anonymous, told the Post the events had left her traumatised.
“It’s really sad,” she said. “It’s really disturbing.”
