Acid attack victim Naomi Oni’s alleged attacker is due to stand trial today.
Student Mary Konye will face a jury at Snaresbrook Crown Court after denying throwing sulphuric acid in the face of the 21-year-old Victoria’s Secret worker, leaving her with life-changing injuries.
The attack is alleged to have taken place on December 30, 2012, as Naomi walked home from work along Lodge Avenue, Dagenham.
Konye, also 21, of Throckmorten Road, Canning Town, worked at a clothing store in Westfield Stratford City, where her alleged victim also worked, and went to the University of Hertfordshire.
She denies throwing a corrosive liquid with intent to maim or cause grievous bodily harm.
