Police are hunting a man suspected of having stolen a dead child’s identity to apply for a driving licence.

Detectives today issued a photograph of the man wanted for questioning over the alleged bogus application.

A Met police spokesman said: “The man shown in the image attached is wanted for questioning by police in connection with a driving licence application made using false documents.

“The documents submitted to support the application relate to a deceased infant and not the man pictured.”

Anyone with information about the man in the picture is urged to call Barking and Dagenham CID Det Con Maria Hartshorn by dialling 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, quoting reference number 5117393/12.
