A Barking man has been charged following his arrest at Stansted Airport.
Khalid Baqa, of Priory Road, was arrested yesterday after the Pakistan International Airlines plane from Lahore to Heathrow was diverted.
The 52-year-old was charged this morning with committing fraud by false representation.
He has been bailed to appear at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, February 23.
It is not believed Baqa had any involvement in the cause of the diversion.
