A Barking man who beat another man and damaged his front door paid a hefty £680 for his actions.

Garry Ronald John Jones, 38, of Blake Avenue, Barking was given an 16-week sentence suspended for 12 months after he was found guilty of assaulting Patrick Luby on July 27 2013. He was also ordered to pay £150 compensation, £150 costs to the Crown Prosecution Service and a victim surcharge of £80.

He was convicted of damaging Patrick Luby’s double glazed window on a front door to the value of £338.40. He was given a two-week sentence, to run consecutively with the first, suspended for 12 months. He was also ordered to pay compensation of £300 at Barkingside Magistrates Court on January 6.
