Barking town centre blaze sparks evacuation

People were led to safety when a fire broke out in Barking Town Centre yesterday.

The blaze started in a flat at a seven-storey block in Arboretum Place.

Firefighters evacuated 10 people as a precaution after 2pm.

The third-floor kitchen fire is under investigation.
