A Barking man is being investigated by officers from the Met’s Child Abuse Investigation Team (CAIT) after allegations that he sexually assaulted an under-age girl.
The initial allegation was made to police on April 25, and relates to the alleged sexual assault in 2006 of a female under 16 in the Hornchurch area.
On April 28, a 33-year-old man was arrested in connection with the investigation and later bailed to return to an east London police station on June 9.
