A hit-and-run driver was ordered to pay £909 when he pleaded guilty to failing to stop at the scene of a Christmas Day crash.

Daniel Hennessey, of Bentry Road, Dagenham, appeared at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court on February 17 and was told to pay a £385 fine, £400 compensation, £85 court costs and a £39 victim surcharge.

Eight points were put on his driving licence.
