A teenager must pay £645 after a string of attempted thefts from vehicles in Fanshawe Crescent, Dagenham.

Bradley Slater, 19, of Rowdowns Road, Dagenham, tried to steal property from four cars on January 9, when he was also found in possession of a bag of cannabis.

He pleaded guilty before Barkingside magistrates on February 17 and was told to pay £500 compensation for the attempted thefts, plus £85 court costs and a £60 victim surcharge. The class B drug will be destroyed.
