A lorry driver has today been charged with careless driving after a cyclist riding a ‘Boris bike’ was left with multiple serious injuries.
Anthony Farmer, of Valence Circus, Dagenham, will appear at Highbury Magistrates’ Court on October 31 facing charges of careless driving and driving a vehicle in a dangerous condition.
Farmer’s lorry collided with a male cyclist in his 20s along Grays Inn Road, at the junction with Theobalds Road, in April, leaving the cyclist who was riding a blue Barclays hire bike with pelvic, chest and head injuries.
The man has since been released from hospital but continues to receive medical care.
Farmer stopped at the scene and was arrested by police. He is currently on bail.
