FAKE Viagra, Rolex watches and more than 18,000 in cash have been seized in Dagenham.
With an estimated street value of 800,000, the haul was discovered by Barking and Dagenham trading standards and HM Revenue and Customs in a shipping container.
The consignment, believed to have come from China to be sold to Christmas shoppers, also included fake designer handbags, sunglasses, GHD hair straighteners, jewellery and rolling tobacco.
Officers believe the container arrived in the UK last month and was being stored in Dagenham ahead of being distributed around the country.
The goods and cash were confiscated by the courts after being seized on November 16 and 17 but no arrests have been made.
Cllr Jeanne Alexander, cabinet member for crime, justice and communities, said: “Counterfeiters undercut legitimate traders who are trying to earn an honest living by selling genuine items. Fake goods might seem good at first sight, but the reality is they are usually poorly made and could even be dangerous. This is especially true for pharmaceutical like the tablets that were seized here.”
