A 28-year old man who pleaded guilty to gun and drugs offences has been jailed for five years.
Arnas Laugalis, 28, of Arboretum Place, confessed to possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life and possessing class A drugs with intent to supply.
He and three colleagues were sentenced to a combined total of more than 43 years’ imprisonment earlier today.
Harrow Crown Court heard how officers from the Metropolitan Police’s Trident and Area Crime Command watched Laugalis meet Matthew Noori, 25, of Chippenham Road, West Kilburn, near Hanger Lane tube station.
The pair got into a car driven by Ameer Al-Sekafi, 25, of Melliss Avenue, Richmond.
Laugalis got out of the vehicle a few minutes later carrying a black plastic bag.
Less than an hour later, he was seen in Hertfordshire passing the same bag to Jonathan Gomez, 33, of Elstree Way, Borehamwood.
Both men left the scene separately, at which point police detained them.
Officers discovered a firearm, ammo and a silencer inside the plastic bag, as well as cocaine and MDMA on Laugalis.
The duo were arrested.
Police searching an address in Perivale found another handgun, ammo and silencer in a large package in the loft.
While officers rummaged through the premises, Noori arrived and spoke to an officer outside. He refused to give his name.
His DNA was later found on the firearm found at the property, whose occupants he was linked to using mobile phone analysis.
Noori was arrested on December 7 2016.
The Met’s investigation later found Al-Sekafi’s DNA on the same handgun.
He was arrested seven months later and cocaine and cannabis seized at his address during a police search, along with £10,500 in cash.
Al-Sekafi pleaded guilty to conspiracy to possess a firearm with intent to endanger life, possessing with intent to supply cocaine and cannabis and possession of criminal property – relating to the money stash.
He was sentenced to 12 years and nine months in jail.
Noori received 13-and-a-half years’ imprisonment after pleading guilty to two counts of conspiracy to possess a firearm with intent to endanger life.
Gomez was found guilty of conspiracy to possess a firearm with intent to endanger life.
He was sentenced to 12 years in jail.
