Man arrested for dangerous driving after Dagenham crash

A man handed himself into police after allegedly crashing his uninsured, unroadworthy car into railings at a roundabout.

Police were called to the junction of Woodward Road and Gale Street in Dagenham at 10am yesterday and found the blue Renault Clio but the driver had fled the scene.

Later in the day Gary Clarke, of Sheppey Road, Dagenham, presented himself at Dagenham police station.

He was charged with dangerous driving, driving without insurance and using a motor vehicle in a dangerous condition.

Clarke was released on police bail to attend Barkingside Magistrates’ Court on Monday 30.
