A man assaulted yesterday in Dagenham remains in a critical condition after he was assaulted in Lodge Avenue yesterday afternoon.
The man, believed to be in his early 30s, remains in hospital following the attack.
Police and London Ambulance were called just before 6pm.
A 36-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and he remains in police custody.
The Met are continuing to investigate.
