Two men are to appear in court charged with assault today after a man was left fighting for his life in Dagenham.
Scott Atkins, 19, of Baron Road, Dagenham, and Shane Gibbs, 22, of Merton Road, Barking, are to appear in custody before Barkingside magistrates to face charges of grievous bodily harm with intent.
Police arrested the pair after an unnamed 22-year-old from Dagenham was found with serious head injuries in Downing Road at around 10.45pm on Friday.
A Met police spokesman said today that the injured man remained in a “critical” condition in hospital.
