PLANS to open a controversial mosque in Dagenham should be turned down at a planning meeting on Monday, council officers are recommending.
Barking and Dagenham planning chiefs have recommended the proposals be rejected, on the grounds they would increase noise, parking and undermine the vitality of the shopping area.
The website of Becontree Heath Islamic Society, which is planning to open the place of worship in Green Lane, also had a link to a YouTube clip making anti-Semitic comments.
The video titled Becontree Health Islamic Society (Dagenham Central Mosque) was taken down in November.
