Police have thanked the operators of Dagenham Market after they gave officers a �300 new bike.
The bicycle will be used to patrol the 600-stall Sunday market in River Road, which attracts thousands of shoppers each week.
Sgt Neale McConnell, of Thames Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “I would like to thank the Charfleets group for this welcome addition to our team resources.”
Charfleets director Kevin Kelly said: “Presenting the team with this bicycle demonstrates our appreciation for the good work done by Thames SNT.”
