A parent collecting their child from a Dagenham primary school was arrested after allegedly assaulting a resident.

Police were called to in Hewett Road at 3.15pm last Tuesday following reports of a fight outside Roding Primary School.

They were told an argument broke out about a child opening a car door onto a 22-year-old resident’s vehicle and causing damage.

During the altercation a parent of a child at the school reportedly assaulted the resident, knocking one of his teeth out in the process.

The 26-year-old man from Barking was arrested at the scene for actual bodily harm and has been released on police bail to March 5 pending further enquiries.
