Police have sought to reassure burglary victims after a spate of break-ins in one street in Dagenham.
Barking and Dagenham burglary squad pledged to clamp down on thieves as a priority after three break-ins in three weeks in School Road near Dagenham Park Secondary School.
Chief Insp Richard Goodwin told the Post: “While streamlining steps are being taken within the Met at this time, these changes will not result in a crime trend in any area being left unchecked.
“The service that local people receive from the police in Barking and Dagenham will not only continue, but will improve as the new model is implemented.”
