Police investigate alleged sex assault in Dagenham

Police are investigating after a suspected sexual assault on a 13-year-old girl in Dagenham.
The schoolgirl was allegedly attacked in Bromhall Road near Mayesbrook Park at 7.30pm last night.
The Met’s sapphire unit is investigating. The girl was being assessed today and no arrests have been made.
Barking and Dagenham Supt Gary Buttercase said: “Incidents of this nature are extremely rare in Barking and Dagenham.
“Specialist crime unit officers have launched an immediate investigation and I would like to assure the public that there is no reason for community to be concerned regarding public safety.”
