A police constable has been charged with six counts of rape and one count of indecent assault.
Adam Provan, attached to the East Area Command Unit, based in Barking and Dagenham, was charged yesterday following talks with the Crown Prosecution Service.
The 38-year-old was remanded in custody to attend Barkingside Magistrates’ Court today.
He was charged with one count of indecent assault on a female victim in 2002, who was then aged 15; two counts of rape in 2010 with a female victim, then aged 16; and four counts of rape in 2016 with a female victim aged 20 at the time.
He is currently suspended from duty.
