Indulging his sweet tooth has cost a man more than £200 after he was fined for stealing chocolate worth £37 from Asda.
Robert John Mills, 46, of Hunsdon Close, Dagenham admitted taking the chocolate worth £37.39 without paying from the supermarket in Vicarage Fields in Barking on December 2 last year.
Mills appeared at Barkingside Magistrates Court on January 6 when he pleaded guilty to failing to surrender to custody without reasonable excuse on December 17 after he was released on bail.
He was fined £100 for the theft, another £20 for victim surcharge. Magistrates, who took account of his guilty pleas, also ordered Mills to pay £100 for failing to surrender.
